REJECTED FROM REJECTED
Featuring pieces that were, for whatever reason, left out, declined, removed, and rejected from the recently released, critically acclaimed book, Rejected: Tales of the Failed, Dumped, and Canceled. For established fans and/or new fans of the book, the show will also feature readings/performances from some of the book’s actual contributors (including Mandy Stadtmiller).

AND, a special holiday message:
Thank you.
Really.
I revamped my book proposal recently, and one of the readers giving me notes wrote me this: “Ok… I’ll be honest with you… I read the entire thing three times, and I could only make three comments. One was a huh? comment, one was an oopsies! comment and the other was an oh-my-god-you-are- f–king-brilliant comment. and you are f–king brilliant…That’s what’s beautiful about you, Mandy Stadtmiller…in all the vulnerability of your writing you are the strongest female I have ever met. A lot of people (not just women) will be able to relate to your story about starting over, and you will be able to give so many of them inspiration.”
Down to the very tips of my toes, thank you.
You (and I mean everyone) know who you are. I’m going to extend my blog holiday through the end of December as I work on transitioning to a new Webmaster and finally settling into my SoHo apartment. Writing and videos will continue to be updated.
Here’s wishing you love and gratitude and grace in these coming weeks.
Show update
Know how I said I was doing Sara Benincasa’s “Family Hour” at Comix this month? Well, I lied. Am doing it on Dec. 6. I also just watched Sara draped in an American flag on her YouTube channel and oh how I did enjoy that.
So know how in my nav bar it’s all “Mandy Stadtmiller is a writer and comedian”
except I haven’t done a show since February, count em, February?
Instead of putting the “comedian” part in ironic quotes, thankfully Ms. Sara Benincasa has rectified this by forcing my non-show-doing-ass to Comix for her Family Hour gig on Oct. 11. Save the date, and don’t stop believing.

The Rejection Show is a comedic-based event that embraces the rejected and “turned down” material of professional and amateur writers, comedians, cartoonists, artists, and human beings who display their creative “failures” live on stage.
Mortified is a comic excavation of teen angst artifacts (journals, letters, poems, lyrics, home movies, stories and more) as shared by their original authors before total strangers.
