"I first heard Mandy on a radio show before I had any idea who she was. But she made me laugh. And I mean really laugh. Her writing is caustic and funny and her standup is the same. She’s not a ‘funny female comic.’ She's just a funny comic."
– Jim Norton
Mandy Stadtmiller is a staff entertainment writer for The New York Post and a stand-up comedian.
In 2007 she placed in the semi-finals of New York's Funniest Stand-Up competition, a contest run by the New York Comedy Festival, co-sponsored by Carolines on Broadway. That same year, she started a first-person dating column for The Post called "About Last Night," which Gawker compared to "Entourage," described as offering "valuable realizations about life and love, all while getting her snootch waxed," and concluded with: "Okay, Mandy, we get it: You win." Mediabistro calls her "a longtime favorite of ours."
In 2006 she won first place in the New York Underground Comedy Festival's Funniest Reporter in New York Contest. Earlier that year she captured international headlines when comedian Andy Dick professed his love for her, offered her cocaine and then bit her on the hand after a Comedy Central taping, all of which she recorded for Page Six. Quotes from Dick included: "Put that in Page 6, 7 and 8, that's how big my [bleep] is." VH1's "Best Week Ever" noted, "We salute NY Post writer Mandy Stadtmiller," describing her one-act adaption of his freak-out as "The Most Amazing Celebrity Encounter Ever" and said if the "interaction had been captured on video and uploaded onto YouTube, the entire Internet would have exploded."
She has written for The Washington Post, Playgirl, The Village Voice, The Los Angeles Times, The Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, The Des Moines Register, Match.com and In These Times. She has appeared on FOX's "Good Day, New York," FOX’s "Red Eye," FUSE’s "10 Great Reasons," VH1’s "Rock Band Cometh," Howard Stern's In Demand Channel, Howard Stern's Sirius Channel, Raw Dog Comedy's Sirius Channel, Opie & Anthony's XM Channel, Maxim’s Sirius Channel and WOR Radio.
Most recently, she dressed up as a naughty nurse and interviewed hot dominatrixes. It was for journalism. Shut up.
